It is a tribute to Peter Kruizinga 's Face Recognition Homepage (which unfortunately has disappeared... thanks Peter for all the valuable information over so many years! Click on the above link to still browse the site using the archive of Wayback Machine.) Here is the successor of the Face Recognition Homepage Preface: Face recognition is not so much about face recognition at all - it is much more about face detection! It is my (and many others') strong belief, that the prior step to face recognition, the accurate detection of human faces in arbitrary scenes, is the most important process involved. When faces could be located exactly in any scene, the recognition step afterwards would not be so complicated. That is why this page tries to gather all available information and material about the task of detecting faces! Welcome Researchers around the world! This site tries to gather all useful information about finding faces. Since much research is going on in this area, the information is grouped into several categories, which are listed on the left side of the page. Please follow those navigation buttons to explore the contents of this site. A short description of the categories:
Please send all material to me via email to Robert.Frischholz@t-online.de. According to Web Hits you are face detection researcher number on this page since February, 15th, 1999! last change: 16-Sep-08 |
