Jahan Bloch is at the threshold of her career and is all set to play the game of success and failure in tinsel town. Coming from a filmy background; the daughter of well-known filmmaker Mehul Kumar, Jahan claims herself to shine out as an actor.
Jahan Bloch has been launched by her father in the sequel to his major success Krantiveer, titled Krantiveer-The Revolution. Jahan in this interview talks about her character and association with her father on and off-screen.
How was it to face the camera for the first time?
Although, Krantiveer-the revolution showcases me in a lead role for the first time but I have been a child artist as well. Moreover, I have grown up watching my father making films. Considering all this, I feel I was way too confident on my first day of the shoot.
Or, shall we say that your family like comfort on the sets made things easier for you?
Honestly, no, simply because I was just like any other actor for my father on the sets. The filmmaker Mehul Kumar is very different from my father as a personality. Being the youngest daughter in the family I have been pampered like anything. I have a different story to narrate while my father was working with me. I always desired to have my debut film directed by him. Today, I see my dream fulfilled.
Krantiveer-the revolution is a sequel to blockbuster of its times- Krantiveer. And being a part of a lead role in such a film is not an easy thing. What do you have to say?
Well, firstly the tag behind your name and secondly to play a crucial role of the daughter of legendaries Nana Patekar and Dimple Kapadia. In the absence of my parents, since they have died in the prequel brought a huge responsibility on my shoulders to bring the shades of them in my character so that audiences get the feel of legend Krantiveer itself. So, in order to live up to everyone’s and my expectations as well I worked extremely hard on my character. It worked in a positive way for me and I gave my best.
So how does your character figure out in the story?
My character is of a television journalist who is a fiery journalist who is set to lead the revolution against terrorism, violence and corruption.
If you had to bring one Kranti or revolution in real life…what would it be?
I think I would eradicate terrorism from the world. However, it is impossible for me to act alone. I feel media today plays a crucial role to wipe out such pests all over. Along with it, one can definitely make a difference.
How would you describe yourself as an actor in the midst of successful actors and strugglers out there?
Hmm, now that’s a difficult question to answer. Well, without sounding too boastful, I feel I can act to the word’s truest meaning, which makes me different from the crowd out there.
So, what going on your mind since the release is around the corner?
I am pretty chilled out now. However, once promos will come out and on the release of the film, I might die of a heart attack.
