CWU President: Good sense has prevailed

CWU President: Good sense has prevailed
Monday 5th October, 2009

President General of the Communications Workers Union, CWU, Joseph Remy says good sense has prevailed on the part of the government regarding the attempts by TSTT to decertify the union, but the fundamental issues still exist.

He says the question is who is really in charge of policy directions at state owned entities.

Mr Remy says another fundamental issue is that during negotiations TSTT wanted the union to give up very important articles as part of the agreement.

He says it is when the CWU refused that the company began trying to get rid of the union altogether.
