Founded in 1923 by the Women’s Home Missionary Society of the Wesley Methodist Church in Morgantown, began by helping with the “Americanization" of newly arrived immigrants by promoting English literacy, citizenship, hygiene and other basic life skills. Services have evolved over the past 90 years and now include senior programs, a food pantry, a baby pantry and backpack feeding program. Many volunteer programs are available to high school and West Virginia University students as well as members of the community at large. Scott’s Run Settlement House strives to meet the needs of those most in need in Monongalia County through collaboration and partnership with other agencies and by working closely with those they serve.
