The Book Of Life

Mild fantasy violence, brief scary scenes.

About this Film

Magical animation 'Book Of Life' focuses on the adventures of Manolo, a lovestruck musician who embarks on a fantastical journey to faraway lands.

Not only is Manolo (Diego Luna) involved in a sticky love triangle with the beautiful Maria (Zoe Saldana) and the hunky Joaquin (Channing Tatum), but he's also facing some tough career decisions: Should he continue his family legacy or blaze his own trail? Before he has a chance to decide, Manolo winds up caught in another world from where he must find his way back to win over his love Maria.

'Book Of Life' is produced by Guillermo del Toro (Pan's Labyrinth) and features a colourful visual style inspired by Mexico's Day Of The Dead holiday.

This was a brilliant film. We think that the rating for this should be all of the stars because it has a good storyline, it's funny, it's exciting, fantastic animation and they picked very good characters. The film was not boring at all. Go see it!

Enjoyable film for an hour then gets boring, Lovely animation but lacks humour. I would say this film is average all in all not anywhere near as good as pixar or disney movie but worth a watch if your kids are aged 6 plus.

This film was surprisingly good, not expecting much based on other reviews, my 5 yr old was desperate to see it, my 8 yr old came along reluctantly but both loved it! From adult point of view, it is a sweet and gentle love story with lots of humour
